A Northern Flying Squirrel is caught by photographer Tom Sears in this wonderful photo. Of course, squirrels can’t fly, nor do they have wings, but with their flaps of skin are able to gracefully glide from one object to another. The nocturnal, rodents have thick light brown or cinnamon fur on their upper body, with a furry membrane which extends between the front and rear leg that allows the animal to glide through the air. -Tom Sears Photo
