Bryan E. Flagg is the Publisher/ Editor of The Northcountry News. The Northcountry News was established in April of 1989 by Bernard A. Marvin of Haverhill Corner, NH, and purchased by Flagg in January of 2002. Initially called the Northcountry News-Independent, in early 2006, Flagg dropped the word Independent and it is now known simply as the Northcountry News.
Flagg grew up in Hampstead, NH where he attended Pinkerton Academy as a teen, taking Forestry and Vocational Agriculture courses.
He has worked for WHEB, a popular seacoast rock and roll radio station and was the Associate Editor and Sales Manager for the Carriage Towne News, a popular direct-mailed newspaper in Kingston, NH. It is there he learned the ins and outs of the newspaper business and credits good friend and publisher Electra Alessio as being his newspaper mentor.
Bryan, wife Suzanne, daughter Sierra and their faithful four legged companion Neka, all enjoy the outdoors. Hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and simply enjoying the White Mountains and all the nature which surrounds them are their top priority.
Flagg is a NH Field Editor for the nationally known magazine called Birds & Blooms, published by Reiman Publications of Greendale Wisconsin. He also has his own photography business known as Wilderness Photography. His enjoyment is nature photography. His photography includes everything from bears and moose to bees and natural landscapes. Some of his photographs can be seen on display at the local restaurant within the community, but mostly within the publications themselves.

Although he admits to not being a typist by any stretch of the imagination, he writes many articles, feature stories and editorials for the paper and takes many of the photos used within the paper.
Flagg’s continuing goal for the Northcountry News is to make it a popular local family oriented newspaper with a diversity of articles, stories and photos of interest to all within its circulation area.
Bryan & Suzanne also publish the Lincoln, Woodstock, Franconia area Mountainside Guide. A weekly guide which can be seen in the Greater Lincoln, Woodstock, & Franconia, NH area. This publication consists of local television listings, area stories, pictures, information and events.
Both Bryan and Suzanne volunteer time for the Believe In Books Literacy Foundation; reading to children and playing characters such as Tigger, Winnie The Pooh, Franklin The Turtle and others. They can also be seen doing what is needed during the popular Polar Express Event in Lincoln, NH each November and December.
They are also Founding Sponsors of the New Hampshire Locked Moose Antler Project, where Bryan currently sits on the Board of Directors and up-keeps their website.
Nature and wildlife are an important part of the Flagg Family. In keeping with the nature and wildlife theme as seen throughout their newspapers, the Flaggs also sponsor a wolf at Wolf Haven International, located in Washington State. They are members of the National Arbor Day Foundation and their yard has been certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
Bryan & Suzanne know the importance of promoting all that is local and they practice what they preach! They serve, support and patronize their local establishments and promote others to do the same.
